Animal antics @ creativecraftchallenges

#Card #craft

I was asked to be a Guest Designer for creativecraftchallenges, the theme is animal antics, and here is my card.

Check out the blog and the actual design team!

I used an image that was provided by robynsfetish I coloured it in with Promarkers and used glossy accents on the drink. I recently bought some my mind's eye wild asparagus papers and here is what i came up with! i edged every edge with a brown ink pad and then used it on the dp i layered the image onto. I added cream lace and some pearls, the flowers are from..... somewhere!

Card for someone special

If you have got past the giraffe ( to stop the hubby seeing the card), then at the bottom is the card i have made my husband for his birthday.
The image and papers are from a me to you decoupage set. I was supposed to be entering this into the MSE use some thing you has to have but never opened, but missed the cut off date :(. The brads are my had to have but never used items as i discovered card candi's! I edged the decoupage base with grey ink. The dp's are layered on papermania card ( i love this pack)
Papermania A4 Capsule Textured Premium Cardstock - Colossal from Papermania

the greeting is another daisy and dandelion one ( only 4 more packs to go!)

book review- alphabet weekends by Elizabeth Noble

This is the 1st book i have read by Elizabeth Noble, and i really enjoyed it, so much so that i now have a few more books by the same author waiting to be read. It's obvious from the start how this book is going to end for the main characters, but as you might have gathered, i like that! i did get confused to start with all the different characters in the book, but eventually i did learn who was who, and who they were married to. but i think the book could have coped with less people in it. The idea of alphabet dates was really good, and lead to some interesting dates- but because it was book-land certain things seemed to be happening just at the right letter!
Overall i enjoyed this book and will give it 4 stars out of 5.

Book Review- The first assistant by Clare Naylor & Mimi Hare

Having read the prequel years ago, i stumbled across this in a charity shop and bought it with interest. I didn't really remember what happened in the 1st book, but jumped straight into this one, once i started reading it, i realised i did kind of remember the 1st book, but didn't really need to, so if you haven't read the 1st book, don't panic. It was a very light read, but enjoyable all the same. Lizzie is dating Luke, but the path of love doesn't run smoothly ( does it ever in these books?!) i won't spoil the ending for you! the plot does take a few strange turns, where i thought; really?; but i think it was to add pages to the story, not unreadable but quite unrealistic and very hollywood filmy.

overall i would give this book 3 stars out of 5.

Cake for The Aunty

#Card #craft

Well i'm unsure about this one ( i'm sure that's all i ever put on here! i think the grey DP is too dark or i should have changed the order of the layering on the image) The image is another(!) LOTV die cut, the papers are from craftwork cards, the grey card is from my stash, the greeting is daisy and dandelion and the ribbon isn't from poundland!!!!!

tag, you're it!

#Card #craft
This card might be a little bit too pink! It's for my friend's birthday (obviously!). The topper is from a me to you set as is the dp. i punched a hole in the topper and added the blue ribbon, the flower i have had in hid in my stash forever! The greeting is craftwork cards and the gems from my stash as usual! i used swiss dots on the white panel.

similar but not the same

#Card #craft#Card #craft

2 quick cards for my husbands best friends, but who aren't friends with each other. this way i don't have to remember who i gave which image to. all the card is from my stash, the images are lilli of the valley. i embossed the card with a papermania checked embossing folder. the ribbon is as usual from poundland.

response to a text

#Card #craft

My Husband's friend text me to tell me his girlfriend was moving in with him, instead of sending him a text back, i made him this card (he will wondering why i haven't text him back!) The card was supposed to be portrait style, but i embossed it upside down........ so a swift turn to a landscape card and i added 2 embossed lines. the image is from lilli of the valley and is layered on black and white card, and then i added 3 nail gems in red. no idea where the greeting is from.

book review-From notting hill with love actually by ali mcnamara

if you loved notting hill, love actually or four weddings you need to buy and read this book! i loved every moment of this book and once i had finished it i wanted to reread it to enjoy it all over again :)
I loved scarlett and wanted her to get together with sean from the start. it might be a bit predictable in places but i didn't effect the overall story.

5/5- seriously why are you still reading this go and buy it!
